This will be an exciting trip to an area north of Cuauhtemoc, a village of about 800 only about 10 hrs drive from Albuquerque. The local church has asked us to build an addition for classrooms for the kids and a kitchen, dinning area for everyone.
REGISTRATION: Please find attached a registration form. Enclose a check for $190 (adult), $110 (youth 13-22) to: "Better Together Mexico" PO Box 67757, Albuquerque, NM 87114. This money will purchase most of your food, transportation costs, and construction materials for the project. Contact Ellis McMath @505-507-3878 for information.
TRANSPORTATION: The Transportation Captain will contact you concerning your assignment. We will depart ABQ early Thursday morning and arrive at the camp about 5-6 pm.
LODGING: We will be camping inside the "shell" at the construction site.
BAGGAGE: Bring your passport. If you do have one, you can still -go- contact Ellis @ 505-507-3878 for instructions. Bring snacks for the road trip, money for lunches on the road, work gloves, hand sanitizer, sleeping bag, cot and about 24-48 drinking water in 12-16 oz plastic bottles.
FOOD: We will be preparing food supplies transported from the US expect to be assigned KP duty and serve your fellow STM's. We also may be the guest for meals prepared by friends in the village.
PHYSICAL HEALTH: The local water will make you sick. Use your bottled water. Do not use local water for cooking or coffee, even if it is being boiled. The reason most STM's get sick - dirty hands - use your hand sanitizer often. Do not touch the dogs, cats or barn yard animals.
SPIRITUAL HEALTH: You will discover it is a privilege to be on a trip like this. Expect to experience God. Expect him to speak to you; ask him to speak to you. Use the time to serve and get to know your fellow STM's. Be open to how God wants to change you; you will be changed.
